humedica International Lanka (HIL) is the sister organization of humedica e.V, Germany. HIL was registered in June 2003 as a non-profit organization (FL-69001) in Sri Lanka. HIL’s mission is to assist and equip vulnerable communities at risk equitably, to be safe, prepared, proactive, reduces risks and resilient before, during and after natural and human made disasters in Srilanka. HIL operates as a trusted, accountable , transparent partner and a credible bridge between the donors (local & international) and the beneficiaries, in collaboration with relevant government partners, community-based groups and volunteers.
HIL’s main office is based in Colombo (Dehiwala) with her branch offices in North (Jaffna), Central (Hatton). We, as the HIL team believe in determining the right beneficiaries, giving the right products/services to the right people at the right time in a non-discriminatory and equitable manner, with a sustainable end/exit in mind.
Apart from our core business of disaster relief, we continue our mission in the areas of disaster preparedness and disaster risk reduction(DRR) through our ongoing programs such as Education ( GROW centers, Literacy /Numeracy), Health ( Mobile integrated wellness clinics, humedica ambulance boat , Mental health , CERT etc.), Community/Skill development ( Sewing centers , Income generating projects etc) .
HIL also has a local and international volunteer program ( 3- 6 months) for young people, who would like to empower HIL staff and community members with their knowledge, skills and expertise while reflecting on their future career options.
