After an aid mission for Congolese refugees in the southeast of Uganda in 2008, the St. Francis Hospital and humedica began their cooperation. The catchment area of the hospital is Kisoro, the southeastern district of Uganda, as well as towns and villages in the neighbouring countries Ruanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Individual missions can be organized throughout the year.

The missions´ aim is to support the medical care of the local population and the training of the local staff. The entry to Uganda will be via Ruanda, as the airport of Kigali is loacted near the hospital.

There is a need for pediatricians, internists, surgeons, gynecologists and generalists, as well as for intensive care nurses or physiotherapists.

Ideal period of time: 4 weeks

Costs: Visa (50 Euro), flight (approx. 800 Euro), airport transfer (approx. 150 Euro), transport and lodging (approx. 6 Euro/day)
