Press Releases:

Bodensee-Airport Friedrichshafen supports humedica

3.000 Euro profit from the deposit bottle campaign donated

Since August 2016 a very special support campaign is underway in the Bodensee-Airport Friedrichshafen for the benefit of the Kaufbeuren humanitarian aid organisation humedica. In front of the security checkpoints passengers can throw their deposit bottles in dedicated collection containers. The revenue of the donated deposit benefits without deduction the international projects of the relief organisation. In 2018 deposit bottles worth 2.883,08 Euro were collected. The Bodensee-Airport Friedrichshafen rounded this amount and handed over the 3.000 Euro donation cheque to humedica in the presence of the committed volunteers.

All people involved were very happy: the revenue of the deposit bottle campaign has now risen three years in a row. In total deposit bottles worth 2.883,08 Euro were collected in the humedica containers in the Friedrichshafen Airport. In 2017 nearly 2.200 Euro were raised. "In the beginning we were not really convinced that the deposit bottle campaign would receive so much support from our passengers." reports Martin Richter, Head of Facility Management at the airport. "That is why we are all the more pleased and glad to round the sum up!"

Together with Claus-Dieter Wehr, general manager of the Bodensee-Airport Friedrichshafen, Martin Richter passed on the 3.000 Euro donation cheque to humedica employee Miriam Barta. Also present were Ursula Dreher and Julius Ander, two of the three volunteers, who regularly empty the collection containers and thus contribute decisively to the success of the campaign. "It is great to see that we have jointly achieved this impressive result. We are very glad about this positive cooperation." confirms also Claus-Dieter Wehr of the Bodensee-Airport.

Thanks to this donation humedica can finance important projects such as the children day care center in the Kosovo or the hunger relief aid in North Korea, where money is urgently needed at the moment.

The project will continue in 2019: at the Bodensee-Airport Friedrichshafen the collection containers are ready to receive all the deposit bottles, which can not be taken inside the airplanes. Also passengers at the Flughafen Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden as well as the Allgäu Airport Memmingen can donate their deposit bottles for the benefit of humedica.
