Obituary on Dr. Walter Roepert
„For I am certain that not death, or life, or angels, or rulers, or things present, or things to come, or powers, or things on high, or things under the earth, or anything which is made, will be able to come between us and the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38, 39
Deeply moved we have to say goodbye to our committed intervention team member, our true supporter and long-time friend Dr. Walter Roepert from Aalen, Germany, who tragically lost its life on the 3rd of December 2017 on a private journey in Ethiopia.
In view of the sad circumstances we struggle to find the right words for such a kind, lovable person, who supported our worldwide aid once and again with great empathy, unbeatable passion, great craftsmanship and self-sacrificing spirit as well as extraordinary enthusiasm over the last years.
As a humedica volunteer his interventions brought him to Ethiopia, Haiti and Uganda. Since decades his first love belonged to the African continent. Time and again he returned to Africa, both on private journeys or as a humedica practitioner in a red vest in the course of humanitarian missions for people in need.
His kindness, his brotherly love, his humor and in particular his concrete help have left indelible marks in various places and have become a constant blessing for many people.
We mourn with his family, friends and acquaintances and will cherish his memory. We do so expressively also in the name of all the people, whom Walter helped and who do not have the possibility to express their personal words now.
