Johannesbad Group donates 2.500 Euro for hospital sponsorship in Haiti

The Johannesbad Gruppe does not only regularly send out medical personnel for training purposes, it now also supports financially the humedica hospital sponsorship of the „Hôpital Espoir“ (Hospital of hope) in Haiti: in the presence of the Orscholz mayor Daniel Kiefer, Dr. Michael Scholten, a longstanding humedica intervention team member and senior physician at the Johannesbad Fachklinik Saarschleife, accepted the 2.500 Euro donation cheque.

„This donation will go directly to the hospital in Haiti to continue its invest in hygiene standards.“, said Bernd Witte, head of the Johannesbad Fachklinik, Gesundheits- und Rehazentrum Saarschleife in the course of the cheque presentation.

This humedica e.V. clinic sponsorship is also supported by the Initiative Klinikpartnerschaften – Partner stärken Gesundheit. The initiative was founded in 2016 by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the Else Kröner-Fresenius-Stiftung. It assists players of the medical and health sector content-related and financially to extend their clinic partnerships with experts in low and middle-income countries. At the moment this initiative supports 137 clinic sponsorships in 37 countries.

#nichtvergesser exhibition at the Kreis- und Stadtsparkasse Kaufbeuren

From the 10th to the 27th of September the humedica #nichtvergesser exhibition was hosted in the foyer of the Kreis- und Stadtsparkasse Kaufbeuren. It was opened officially on the 13rd of September. Its aim: to remind of forgotten crises, in this case the forgotten disaster in the humedica project country Pakistan focusing on the topic "Water".

Heinke Rauscher, corporate communication manager at humedica, opened the exhibition together with its host: "We appreciate very much the opportunity to remind jointly of forgotten crises here on the premises of the Kreis- und Stadtsparkasse Kaufbeuren. We would like to thank the Sparkasse expressively for its longstanding support of our work."

In the course of the exhibition opening Mr. Franz Endhardt, member of the Kreis- und Stadtsparkasse Kaufbeuren board and Mr. Angelo Picierro, deputy board member and head of Sales Management at the Kreis- und Stadtsparkasse Kaufbeuren presented a 5.000 Euro cheque to humedica to support its worldwide relief projects.

+++ Guests at the humedica headquarters +++

In the last days the humedica headquarter was happy to welcome interesting guests. Ms. Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger, former member of the Germany parliament and Minister of Justice, visited together with a five-person regional delegation of her party to enquire about the work of humedica.

Also the newly appointed general manager of the Kaufbeuren Tourismus- und Stadtmarketing e.V., Verena Ridder, discussed the manifold humanitarian projects of the organization with humedica employee Heinke Rauscher and Johannes Peter as well as general manager Wolfgang Groß.

Minderleinsmühle supports Romania relief work of humedica

The Minderleinsmühle GmbH & Co. KG assists flood victims in Romania. The specialist for semi-natural, ecological and sustainably produced food supports the disaster supply help of humedica with seven palettes of. cereals, which will be distributed to people, who have lost all their belonging to the last floodings in Romania.

"Social engagement is very important here at the Minderleinsmühle", tells us Andreas Hubmann, general manager of the enterprise. "For us it is a matter of course to support people in need with our products."

At humedica we are glad about such commitment. "In particular donations in kind allow us to help people in need quickly and dircetly.", explains Heinke Rauscher, corporate communications manager at the humanitarian organization.

Relief goods delivery to North Korea: DVRK embassy counselor Kim Hak visited the humedica headquarters

More than ten thousand of surgery face masks are currently on their way from the humedica headquarters in Kaufbeuren, Germany, to North Korea. Another major consignment of medical equipment and other hospital supply is already planned for 2019.

Since 1998 humedica supports the people in the Democratic People´s Republic Korea (DVRK) with relief good deliveries in form of drugs, hospital supply items as well as food. Put in concrete terms, humedica has already sent over 31 containers with a total weight of about 275 tons. The last ones of these last deliveries went to Sepo in the South East of the country, please see our report here.

Embassy counsellor Kim Hak, contact person of the North Korean embassy in Berlin, visited the humedica headquarters to thank in person for the longstanding support.

"In the course of our monitoring trips we were always satisfied that the relief goods really are used, where they are need most." explains Wolfgang Groß, humedica general manager.

Following a delivery of medical equipment, next year another delegation will travel to North Korea, we will report about this trip in detail in our project section.
