Psychological help for refugees


The Syrian refugees, humedica cares for within its relief projects in the Lebanon, have often made horrible experiences in the civil war of their home country as well as during their flight. Therefore humedica provides in cooperation with the Federal Foreign Office of Germany the inhabitants of the provisory refugee camps in Eastern Lebanon not only with basic medical care, but also with psychological support.

In group lessons the psychosocial worker Marie talks with children, women and men about their worries and problems and tries to sensitize them for their own mental health. If they suffer from traumas or serious harm, the humedica employee refers the refugees to psychologists and psychotherapists. But also supposedly less strenuous challenges and problems are a part of Marie´s daily work:
