Again first place in the „Portrait“ category

by LKO, 2017/11/24

humedica wins the PR Image Award 2017 of the dpa subsidiary news aktuell and prevails in competition for the second year in a row.

The winner photography titled „Life is beautiful“ was taken in a Syrian refugee camp in the Lebanon by the Allgäu reportage photographer Christoph Jorda during his stay in June 2016. humedica spokesman Steffen Richter received the prize in person on the 23rd of November 2017 in front of approximately 250 invited guests in the Gruenspan in Hamburg, Germany.

„It is an immense honor for us to be awarded the first place in the ‚Portrait‘ category this year again for the second time in a row. Our special thanks go to Christoph Jorda, who supports our organization as voluntary photographer since several years. With his expressive pictures he enables us to visualize our humanitarian work.“

The award-winning photography shows the twelve-year-old boy Moussa, who has sought protection from the violence in his home country in a refugee camp near the Syrian border. Despite a severe sun allergy with a visible impact on his skin and the consequent physical impairments, Moussa emanates a contagious zest for life and thus confutes the first associations of persons vis-à-vis. Since 2012 humedica provides medical aid in the camp of Moussa and his family as well as in about 30 other refugee camps in the Lebanon.
