Anniversary campaign: 15 years of „Present from the heart“
What could be better than happy children at Christmas time? These glad children motivate each year thousands of parcel packers, hundreds of volunteers and all our partners to support our parcel campaign „Present from the heart“. This year already for the fifteenth time.
If you do not only want to make presents to your dearest this year, but also would like to bring Christmas joy to children in need, you are most welcome join in the „Present from the heart“ campaign. Since 2003 our initiative endows children from especially indigent families in particular from the East and South of Europe, also thanks to the support of Sternstunden e.V. Without the commitment of the many Christmas parcel packers and the other numerous volunteers these children would often not even have a toothbrush or a warm cap of their own.
In Bavaria many people fill shoeboxes with nice and practical things for children such as toys or exercise books and bring them to the nearest collection point, which plays a very important role in the campaign organisation.
Many more industrious helpers then collect the parcels at the collection points and bring them to the humedica headquarters, where the parcels will be controlled once more and prepared for shipment. Trucks then transport the „Presents from the heart“ to one of the eight campaign countries like Rumania, Albania or the Ukraine.
But „Present from the heart“ is not limited to Europe. Also in overseas countries parcels are packed and presented to children in need. To allow for this particular form of help in countries like Ethiopia, Brazil, India, Sri Lanka, Haiti or Zimbabwe, we ask for the donation of 15 Euro; this sum corresponds to the value of one Christmas parcel, which will be prepared in one of the overseas partner countries to avoid expensive transport fees. The employees of humedica branch organisations, befriended associations and many volunteers will support the campaign realisation on site.
Campaign media partners are this year not only the „Abendschau“ of the Bayerischer Rundfunk, but also “Bayern 2”. We are very glad about this sustainable assistance from the house of the Bavarian Radio.
