Once again the Lions from Rheda-Ems have helped

Determined and continuous help for people in distress is the link between the Lions Club Rheda-Ems and humedica. A fact, which has now induce the service club to give a donation of 2,000 Euros for the humedica help in Nepal.

Klaus Ruhrmann, who has already been able to provide practical help for humedica during many emergency operations, like on Haiti, in Iran or on the Philippines, confirmed that the money is going to be used at the right place. In the context of the handover of the check, he exposed his personal experiences during the catastrophe operations and reported about the help which has been realized on-site.

For the Lions Club Rheda-Ems this is not the first commitment for humedica: Under the motto “We serve”, the club has supported different humedica emergency assistance projects in former years already. For example for the catastrophe help after typhoon “Haiyan” on the Philippines or the campaign “blankets for the Syrian people”.

On behalf of the beneficiaries of this help, humedica cordially thanks the Lions Club Rheda-Ems for this continual help.

Württembergische Versicherung AG supports humedica

With a donation of 5,000 Euros the staff of Württembergische Versicherung AG area Landsberg has supported the work of the help organization humedica from Kaufbeuren. It is thanks to each single staff member, who have renounced to part of their provisions, that this pleasing result could be reached.

In the context of a personal visit to the humedica headquarters in Kaufbeuren, the regional manager from Landsberg, Richard Lang and the chairman of the insurance company, Peter Auerbacher handed the check over to humedica staff member, Heinke Rauscher. “For us it was important to support a regional organization, of which we know that our donation will be used where it is most needed”, Lang explained their decision for the help organization.

The purpose of the donation has deliberately be left open by the staff memberes of the Württembergische Versicherung AG, which enabled humedica to use the money where it is most needed and where people in distress are dependent on support. “Support for no special project helps us to help at places which hardly get any donations because they are not well-known. Therefore, we want to cordially thank the generous staff members of Württembergische Versicherung AG”, Rauscher said thankfully.

Thank you from Liberia

The outbreak of the deadly Ebola-fever last year, hit the West-African state Liberia with full force. humedica had reacted immediately and had supported the overcharged country with 80 tons of medical aid supplies and with containing measures. Now, the epidemic in Liberia has officially been declared to be over.

In the context of a meeting on June 6th, the Liberian president, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf personally thanked humedica managing director, Wolfgang Groß for the provided support. Herewith we want to pass on this thanks to you, dear donators. Without your help our fast aid to the people in Liberia would not have been possible. Thank you very much!

Refreshing help from Allgäu

Help for people in distress can have many forms and facets: it can be comprehensive or selective, it can be done spontaneously or well-consideredly and it can be expressed in a usual or an unusual way. The fund-raiser of a young woman from Bavarian Ottobeuren surely is a rather unusual one.

On a public holiday, Karin Mayer and her boyfriend had installed a private ice-cream parlor in their garden and had supplied their friends and families with delicious ice-cream. In return, their guests thanked them with a voluntary contribution. And the sum of it is nice: 200 Euros have been collected for humedica with this unusual campaign. The donation is meant to be used for the current help measures in Nepal, where humedica has provided comprehensive help with aid supplies and reconstruction measures since the earthquake in April.

“This fund raiser proves once more that help for people in distress is always precious, regardless of the kind of campaign. I cordially thank for this great idea”, humedica managing director, Wolfgang Groß says gratefully.

Brazil exposition: last dates available

Before the Football World Cup last year, the coverage photographer Christoph Jorda visited the humedica projects in Brazil, to portrait the everyday life of people far away from the economic surge and to outline the painful vicious circle of structural poverty. The result has become a still explosive and highly topical touring exhibition with the significant title “Life. Tragedy. Hope. Reflective insights into Brazilian families’ everyday life.”

There is still some free space of time for the end of 2015 and in 2016, to present this exhibition in your area. If you are interested, please contact our responsible staff member, Mr. Steffen Richter (e-mail: s.richter@humedica.org or telephone 08341-966 148 45)
