humedica sends aid supplies to the Ukraine
More than one hundred people had lost their lives, many more had been injured, and finally the desired political downfall happened. Another effect might have been that the focus of the world public also covered the very difficult economic situation of many Ukrainians. For many years already, humedica has supported a project in Luzk, in the Western part of the country with aid supplies. A new transport has just set off.
humedica has just sent a transport of about 5.7 tons to the Ukraine with a total volume of 73.9 cubic meters and amounting to nearly 100,000 Euros of worth. It especially contains medical supplies which will be given to the biggest children’s hospital in the region by our long-time partner organization Children’s Mission.
“Politically, the situation has calmed down a bit for us”, says Lyudmila Lonyuk, head of Children’s Mission by phone. “The economic situation of many people has already been difficult for years, now it is precarious.”
Besides the poor supply of food, especially the abysmal facilities in the hospitals are alarming. The state is at the brink of bankruptcy, so government benefits, for example for the health sector do not exist. “Without the precious help of humedica, this children’s hospital for example would be in a much worse state”, confirms Lonyuk.
It is being discussed if humedica is going to intensify their existing commitment because of the current political situation. “We surely must wait and see the coming development. However, thanks to our long-time relationship with Children’s Mission, we have very good possibilities for giving direct aid”, Wolfgang Groß, humedica managing director, had recorded.
humedica is asking the population and the companies in Germany for directed donations for our help for the Ukraine:
