State of emergency in Serbia: After massive rains, wide parts of the country are flooded. Thousands of people had to leave their houses, several towns and villages are isolated. These have been the worst floods for 120 years and the government has now declared a state of emergency. Given these dramatic circumstances, humedica is immediately going to send a field team into the emergency region.

“Some years ago, we have already been able to realize urgently needed help during the bad floods in Serbia, and we dispose of good contacts to the country”, explains humedica managing director Wolfgang Groß. The local partner is the humanitarian help organization TABITA Social Humanitarian Society, in cooperation with which humedica has been able to realize comprehensive distributions of aid supplies in Serbia over the last years.

In the context of a first arrival, humedica sends experienced staff to Serbia. Doctor Sabine Kirchner (Stollberg), nurse Klaus Ruhrmann (Bielefeld), coordinator Nina Skandalaki (Augsburg) and media coordinator Martina Zelt (Memmingen) are going to fly to Belgrad from the Allgäu Airport near Memmingen (flight details: May 17th, 12:40, WizzAir, Allgäu Airport).

humedica kindly asks the German population for directed donations for the disaster operation in Serbia:
