Invitation: prayer for Japan

As a token of sympathy and support to the victims of the terrible earthquake and the tsunami that occurred almost one and a half week ago, the humedica forum Hesse and the Evangelische Allianz Wetzlar would like to invite you to join in a "Prayer for Japan" on next Friday evening.

This campaign has been initiated by Georg Müller, Deputy Chairman of the Board of humedica. The general practitioner and emergency doctor receives famous support by Pastor Ulrich Parzany, who will hold the prayers during the charity event. Furthermore, the evening will be accompanied by the music of Petra Borel and ensemble and their programme "Wohin der Himmel treibt" (Where the sky floats).

On this evening that will take place under the patronage of Wolfgang Dette, Lord Mayor of the city of Wetzlar, the organiser of the event intends to bring together people from Germany with the objective of praying together for the victims of the natural disaster in Japan. The charity event will take place on Friday, March 25, 2011, at the Wetzlar Cathedral. The event will start at 7pm.

Announcement: commitment for Japan

Also in other places people from Germany express their sympathy for the hard fate of the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. With their campaigns they support the relief efforts of humedica in the disaster regions.

With the motto "Leipzig prays for Japan", about 50 honorary assistants are planning to collect donations during a charity evening, which will then be donated to humedica in order to support the organisation's relief projects in Japan. The event will take place on Tuesday evening, April 26, 2011, starting at 7pm, at the Veranstaltungszentrum Leipzig, Neumarkt 9.

Commitment for Japan is diverse: here the "Pray for Japan" t-shirt.

All those, who cannot take part in the event, can obtain the official t-shirt to the campaign from the t-shirt mail-order firm "only69 Shirts" which provides a limited edition of 69 shirts. Also "only69 Shirts" will donate the complete takings generated by selling the "Pray for Japan" t-shirts to humedica in order to support the earthquake relief projects.

And also the "Blue Marlin Sushi Bar" in Cologne contributes to the humedica relief measures in Japan by means of a donation campaign. Starting from this week, 10 percent of each bill paid at the Sushi Bar will be donated to humedica.

The total takings of these donation campaigns will be used for the humedica projects with the objective of supporting the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Currently, the commitment of humedica consists in supporting our Japanese partner organisations in the field of relief goods distributions and reconstruction in the devastated regions.

The humedica team would like to thank all those involved for their admirable commitment. Please find further information about the donation campaigns presented above by clicking on the corresponding links on our facebook pinboard.

Looking back: charity concert for Japan

A short time ago, the humedica headquarters received a letter by the vocal ensemble "Sunnies" from Dirlewang. They, too, wanted to support the relief efforts of humedica in Japan with donations collected during a charity concert at the parish church of St. Michael.

Last Sunday, the big day had arrived. About 500 guests listened to the one-hour performance of the vocal ensemble at the impressively lighted parish church. The event was kicked off by a slide show of the terrible disasters that had hit Japan during the past few days.

A total of 2,700 euros could be collected in form of admission fees and donations made by the guests of the concert. But the women's choir wanted more and without further ado they contributed another 300 euros from their own pockets. Hence, the total donation amounted to 3,028.64 euros.

The humedica team would like to express its heartfelt thanks to the donors and above all to the vocal ensemble "Sunnies" for their great support!
