Music for charity purposes

A few weeks ago, a charity concert took place at the parish church St. Peter and Paul in the Swabian town of Ziemetshausen with the purpose of helping those in misery. With their colourful musical programme that included both choral and instrumental pieces the group fiori musicali attracted a substantial number of guests to their concert.

Everyone was pleased about a successful evening and the takings which were to be donated for charity purposes (from left to right). Anton Böck, Karl Miller, Angela Donderer, Manfred Krautkrämer, Lilo Wucherer, humedica employee Joachim Panhans, Dominik Wowra. Photo: Peter Voh

Clearly delighted, the listeners enjoyed the mixture of sacro pop, classical and temporary music. Besides pieces by Mozart and classical hymns, the quintet consisting of Lilo Wucherer, Angela Donderer, Siggi Ehninger, Dominik Wowra and Erich Kusterer also performed modern compositions such as the hymnal version of "Let it Be" by the Beatles. Their entire performance was expressive and inspiring.

The audience's boundless enthusiasm formed the base of gratitude for the evening's charity purpose. The takings of the event were donated in equal shares to non-profit organisations. So, humedica received a cheque of 700 euros that will be used for reconstruction projects and fighting undernutrition in the framework of our flood relief in Pakistan.

At this point, humedica would once more like to thank the organisers of the event, fiori musicali, as well as all the guests and donors who participated in the evening for their contribution and commitment.

Active support by means of online donations

Already at the beginning of the year, we were pleased to note the broad support for our work in the form of donations made to humedica. For the year 2010 we received a total sum of 3,782 euros via the online donation portal HelpDirect.

Nowadays, HelpDirect is considered to be the leading German-speaking donation portal for international relief projects in the field of humanitarian aid, as well as in environmental and nature protection, and animal welfare. For several years now, donors have been taking advantage of the services offered by the web portal to make financial contributions to the different relief projects run by humedica.

By means of this article, we would like to express our thanks for the numerous donations we received during the past year via the services of HelpDirect. Each donation contributes to facilitating the continuation of our successful work also in our most current projects in Pakistan, Haiti and Brazil.

Professional soccer players will support humedica also in 2011

"Professional Soccer Players help Children" not only is the byname, but also the motto of the foundation stars4kids which is based in Baden-Wurttemberg. Soccer stars such as Cacau, Jorginho or Paulo Sergio take advantage of their fame and their joy in playing soccer in order to make the public aware of the misery and poverty of millions of children living in deprived areas all over the world.

By means of charity games, tombolas and diverse other charity events, numerous clubs from the German Bundesliga and individual sport celebrities collect thousands of euros each year which flow directly into deprived regions all over the world.

Already in December last year stars4kids - Professional Soccer Players help Children has agreed to support the humedica project for reconstructing a school in Haiti with a highly generous donation of 100,000 euros.

Furthermore, a few weeks ago a tombola was organised in Cologne and the takings of more than 16,000 euros were also handed over to humedica. This donation will be used in our project for reconstructing an orphanage in Haiti.

humedica is very pleased about the fact that the foundation has assured us their cooperation also for the year 2011. Therefore, we would once more like to express our heartfelt gratitude also to stars4kids - Professional Soccer Players help Children both for their support in the past and in the future.
