On mission for humedica: deployed in all parts of the world

by SRI,  2010/09/22

The honorary medical teams are the beating heart of humedica. They are the ones who implement our disaster relief and with huge personal commitment and excellent training they offer help to people in misery all over the world. At this point we would like to provide you with a short overview of the staff forming the current mission teams.

Next weekend physician Dr Rüdiger Lange, the two medical students Wiebke Discus and Raphael Müller, as well as nurse Carolin Müller, will return to Germany from a 16-day mission in Pakistan. They are the fourth of the seven mission teams which have been planned to be sent to Pakistan so far.

The work of the four medics in Pakistan will be taken over by Dr Leon Gallez, Dr Petra Kranz-Ries, nurse Saskia Hankel and paramedic Anja Ziegler. After their two-week mission in Sukkur in the south of Pakistan other teams will follow.

As representatives for many more mission team members who participate in about 15 to 20 running projects, we would like to name our coordinators Simone Winneg and Karin Wilke who are in charge of our hospital project in Niger, and furthermore Tanja Osterried and medical student Hanna Bellmann. Until last summer, more than 140 professionals from the medical field had been deployed in Haiti; today, the “Hospital of Hope” is manned by a permanent team and besides that by nurse Klaus Ruhrmann and physiotherapist Felicitas von Gaudecker.

The persons listed above are named representatively for many others who sacrifice their valuable time and often even their holidays and help people in misery with huge motivation and on a high professional level every year. We are very grateful to all of you and at this point we would once more like to say: may God bless you and protect you!

Are you also interested in a medical mission or would you like to oversee a mission as coordinator (in the field of organisation or media)? Then we would like to invite you to learn more about our work and philosophy in the framework of our obligatory camps or training weeks. We are looking forward to seeing you there!
