Professor Dr Dr Bernd Domres (from the city of Tübingen) is a renowned expert in the field of disaster medicine and a popular speaker at congresses and expert conferences all over the world.

At the international 5th expert conference on “national security and civil protection” (5. Berliner Fachkongress “Nationale Sicherheit und Bevölkerungsschutz”) which will take place on March 10 and 11, 2010 in the city hall of Berlin (Rotes Rathaus), Professor Dr Dr Domres will talk about his latest experiences in Haiti.

In the framework of the topic “Being a doctor of the humedica team during the relief mission in Haiti (initial treatment for earthquake victims – organisational aspects and security)”, he will have the opportunity of presenting our disaster relief in the Caribbean state.

30-minute TV report about mission in Haiti

More than ten journalists representing different types of media have been documenting the work of our team in Haiti since the beginning of the mission. We highly appreciate these journalists’ work, since they substantially increase the transparency of our global commitments by means of their reports.

A team of three employees of the German TV station ARD stayed at the “Hospital of Hope” for about one week and meticulously documented the work of our medical team.

The journalists travelled to Haiti together with Dr Wolfgang Riske (from Meinersen) in order to report about every detail of a doctor’s work from packing for the journey to returning home.

In the framework of the TV programme “Gott und die Welt” (God and the World), the 30-minute report with the title “In der Hölle von Haiti – Wie deutsche Ärtzte helfen” (In the Hell of Haiti – What German doctors do to help) will be rendered on Sunday, 14th of February at 17:30 on ARD.
