Parting with her family at the airport was definitely not easy for Heidi Nicklin. But nevertheless, the soon-to-be teacher was excited about her new position at the International School Manipay on the Jaffna peninsula located in northern Sri Lanka.

For a few weeks it wasn’t clear when Heidi Nicklin would be able to begin her new job at the humedica-run school. The political situation on the conflict-ridden Jaffna peninsula was too unstable. A few days ago, however, she received an all-clear that her trip would be possible.

Besides teaching her own classes and supporting the teaching staff, Heidi will help further development humedica’s Family Sponsorship Program.

humedica supports several projects in Sri Lanka, which, alongside medical care, focus on distributing food and supplies as well as the previously-mentioned educational facility.

Please help support the work of humedica in this conflict-afflicted country by making a donation.
