Powerful earthquake hits Pakistan

Balochistan is a very poor, but also thinly populated region in Pakistan, where the central government in Islamabad commands very little authority.

In that year, a quake of a magnitude of 7,6 hit the Pakistan part of Kashmir, claiming over 80,000 lives.
