…doctors for humedica have been providing rapid medical help in conflict areas world-wide. On the occasion of the devastating earthquakes in Colombia, the Kuafbeuren relief organization humedica e.V., in partnership with the mission organization Operation Mobilisation, established the humedica medical team – whose goal it is to, within hours of an emergency, be able to deliver medical aid to the affected region.
Besides catastrophe missions, where emergency doctors and paramedics need to be able to react within 24 hours of an emergency occurring are also the long-term campaigns - like screenings from general practicitioners, dentists and pediatricians - in regions known for having little or no basic health-care.
Humedica maintains a database with over 550 medical personnel, all who are ready to go on assignment within a short period of time after an emergency has occurred. Humedica takes care of arranging the transportation and the gathering of the medical equipment, including the needed medicines, work clothes and satellite telephones.
On-site, humedica relies upon the infrastructure of local organizations. Existing contacts between humedica and Christian and humanitarian organizations world-wide make the quick and efficient setup of a response team possible.
